Seve Gats really wanted to visit China. Unable to make the trip on her own, Seve decided to take to Photoshop with her traveling ambitions, giving us a glimpse of what the vacation might actually look like. She did a pretty poor job of photoshopping and the internet took notice. She quickly became an internet sensation, and people started to poke fun at her rough Photoshops. She managed to catch the attention of Sam Gichuru, an entrepreneur and co-founder of Kenya’s startup, Nailab. He and a couple of friends raised money for Seve to actually go to China.Click here for the full story.

After losing both her parents to heart attacks, she felt defeated, negative and depressed. All that changed when her friend introduced her to vision boards. Here's what she said happened:
"I lost both my parents to sudden heart attacks before the age of 25. After the second death, I felt I could not go on. I remember sinking into a deep depression. I would sleep all day. I wanted my surroundings to be dark. I would eat until I felt better. Every day I would replay the story over and over again in my head, asking myself, “Why me?” I complained about how horrible my life was. Most times, I rejected invites from my friends because I did not want to be subjected to seeing them with their parents. There was a spirit of sorrow, enviousness, jealousy, and unbearable grief birthing in me.
Little did I know that I was breeding negativity in my mind each time I complained, rehearsed my story, or replayed those horrific events. I never thought I could stop saying, “Why did I have to lose both of my parents before the age of 25?” I was dying on the inside, and I didn’t even realize it. I was speaking defeat over my life and allowing this tragedy to dominate me in a negative way.
In 2010, a girlfriend invited me to create a vision board with her. As I sat down to create the vision board, I didn’t know what to expect. I was sure that if I continued in the manner I had been, the results would not be good.  I am not sure I was completely aware of what was happening neurologically while creating, but in retrospect, I know it was divine. I placed words such as peace, love, hope, and freedom alongside my personal goals. I reluctantly hung this board on a wall in my front room. As I passed by it each day, I felt hope and determination grow inside of me. I eventually started to repeat the words that were on my vision board. I used it as a point of reference for the dark and cloudy days. I would repeat my goals and dreams aloud.
Creating my vision board is what defined the pivot in my life. Speaking words of hope, love, peace, freedom, and joy helped me push myself to a place of healing, wholeness, and restoration."

"Reality show star and former Playboy model Andrea Arlington says she made vision boards to make her daughter, Alexis Neiers, famous. .
It started with the TV show The Simple Life and ended with Pretty Wild, an E! reality show about a girl accused of robbing Orlando Bloom as a member of the infamous Bling Ring. Her name was Alexis Neiers (she denies the crime). At the time of the alleged burglary, she lived with her two sisters and her mother, the former Playboy model Andrea Arlington.
In between dealing with the trial and the girls' Hollywood exploits (modeling for Biatta Lingerie, arguing with Vanity Fair journalist Nancy Jo Sales about journalism ethics), Arlington homeschooled the girls in a self-help book called The Secret. The text directs readers to follow the law of attraction."
"She says vision boards made her previous dreams come true. Arlington initially turned to the craft in 2000, when her love life was in the gutter. She covered her vision board in pictures of guys. "I wanted to meet a new husband, and it worked," Arlington explained. Remembering her previous success with vision boards, she decided to return to the practice in 2012 when she wanted to stop taking pills.

"I wanted to make changes in my life," Arlington said. "Boy did it work: Suddenly single!"

She made a vision board and here are 10 things she says have manifested in her life:

"1. I’ve attracted successful mentors into my life. Shannon Boodram, Shannae Ingleton, Stuart Knight, Bryan Brock, Rakia Reynolds, Bea Arthur + more (Google them! My mentors are freakin’ awesome!) all came through my power of thought. Before they even knew I existed I envisioned myself speaking with them, learning from them and excelling in my own endeavours as a result of their advice… and BOOM it happened.
2. I launched a business + brand. Some people probably don’t even know that I co-owned my first company at age 19 as a fashion stylist and personal shopper for professionals in the music and entertainment industry. It wasn’t until about 2011- ish when I begun creating my personal brand. I had a large vision of building an empire but started very small. Prior to starting a business of any kind, I volunteered a lot, asked questions, watched documentaries, and read many books so that I would be ready when God presented an opportunity in front of me. Here I am today living my dream.

3. I’m a media darling. I’ve been blessed to make multiple expert appearances on Rogers TV, Global Television, MTV Canada, ESSENCE magazine, Vibe Vixen, Product Magazine + more. My debut novel, Everything I Couldn’t Tell My Mother was featured on The Queen Latifah Show website also . My next big dream is to make an appearance in O Magazine or the OWN Network, TedX, The Social …. and I’d also love to work behind the scenes with notable women in television like: Shonda Rhimes, Lena Dunham, Mindy Kaling, Mara Brock Akil + a few others.

4. I caught the travel bug. In May 2014, I took my first work trip (as a personal brand) out to Washington DC to speak at Conversations Her Way. I later was invited back again by the Uniquely You Summit in September. Furthermore, a church invited me to Nigeria for a conference later that November, but due to the intensity of the Ebola virus, my family doctor advised that I stay home. 2015 afforded me business opportunities in New York and New Jersey and I’ve just booked my first 2016 business trip in January. I will be hosting the Moguls in Media event in Philadelphia.

5. I’m an (low key) actress. I have no dreams of winning an Emmy award, but I do admire the confidence of on-screen professionals. Acting helps me develop my skills as a speaker and builds my mental toughness. So I re-connected with an old friend, Janelle Morgan, Founder of Morgan Model Management. She is now my talent agent and helping me navigate the industry. On another note, would you believe me if I told you that a Hollywood talent agent scouted me for a TV pilot on VH1? Yeah yo. The vision board is totally real. On another note, I also just finished the screenplay adaptation to my novel and one of my dreams is also to become a TV writer so being in the industry allows me to learn a ton.

6. I’m a Best-Selling Author. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had dreams of becoming a professional writer. But it was never enough for me to just be a writer. In anything I do, I want to be the best. So after dropping out of college, I created a vision board and wrote down my goal. In 2010, at the age of 22, I became a nationally published journalist who has been published in every major Canadian newspaper. I wrote about everything from world issues to politics, fashion to travel, human interest to environment and my fave, celebrity features. I later went on to write my novel, Everything I Couldn’t Tell My Mother and at age 26, became an Amazon best seller in two weeks. Debuting at #16 in Kindle in the Children’s Girls & Women’s books category and #47 in Paperback and Hardcover Fiction books.

7. I finally got serious about my health. This incident is very recent. I used to take boxing classes. I loved the workout and my coach was pretty awesome too. Life got in the way and I took a small break, which turned into yearlong. But check this out, last week as I’m walking down Front street on my way to a TV interview, I bump into Juan, my boxing coach. Perfect timing. Two days later, we were back in the gym. When you walk with purpose, you will attract the right people into your life.

8. I purchased a car. Almost 3 years ago my sister was driving my car and got into an accident which totalled it. In my head I thought, damn where am I going to find money for a new one? Till this day, I can’t even tell you how and why. But last year I was able to gather enough funds to buy a Mazda for my mom, sister and I to get around. God had my back on this one.

9. I hired an Entertainment Lawyer. Welp! I will admit, this past weekend was challenging. I was interviewing lawyers because …. well you just have to wait and see. After receiving a few quotes of upwards of $2000.00 I was feeling discouraged and defeated. Sunday morning I was watching a sermon by Paula White on YouTube. She is my go-to when I need a pick-me-up and I was inspired to hold on to my faith. Girl, on Monday afternoon I had a meeting with an lawyer from Los Angeles (a referral from my mentor Shannon Boodram) and he agreed to help me for a fraction of the cost. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas! None other than God and the power of my vision.

10. I purchased an investment property. This is a goal I really wanted to achieve before the age of 30. With the help of my Realtor Aaron Charles, my financial advisor and my vision board, I put down funds on a pre construction stacked townhouse in Richmond Hill."

Wayne Dyer's daughter Serena Dyer made a vision board and everything on it came true! Here's what she said happened:
"In 2008, I decided to make a vision board so that I could have a visual reminder of the type of person I had set my intentions on being. I wasn’t sure what type of career I wanted so instead of putting a specific job on the vision board I put words that represented feelings I would have if I were doing my dream job. I also put on my vision board words representing the man I would like to attract into my life, rather than images of a really hot guy. I also cut out photos of other people doing activities I wanted to do, like meeting children in Africa, driving an old car down the coast of Italy and going wine tasting in an exotic location. I actually glued my face over the other people’s faces so I could see myself doing these things and not just imagine them! I cut out images of a big yacht, a silver Mercedes, some nice jewelry, and I put the word “travel” all over that thing just in case the universe was being extra generous!
I also put on my vision board images of Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres with myself right next to them and can you believe it? I had the opportunity to meet Ellen in 2009 and this past February, as Oprah put her arms around me and gave me a big hug, I was experiencing one of my long term wishes being fulfilled!

Pretty much everything on my vision board has come true. I went wine tasting in Sonoma this past September, I visited an African tribal village and danced with the women, I drove in a vintage Aston Martin in Sardinia in 2010 and that big yacht and silver Mercedes? Well, it turns out that my dream man has both of those, and we just recently got engaged,   celebrating our four-year anniversary together. My career is heading in a direction I feel proud of and I have had the opportunity to take so many trips in the past 4 years that my friends jokingly call me “the world traveler.” So many of the material things and experiences I desired happened to show up in my life in ways that I can’t even explain or make sense of, but the truth is, that isn’t even the coolest part."

Today's visionboard story is comes from Erin, here's what happened:
"Erin and Jeannie were living within blocks of each other for several years in the Gayborhood of Philadelphia without ever crossing paths. At one point they even lived across the street from each other. One fated day, Erin had a chance encounter with a Tarot Card Reader named Dianna while walking by her favorite neighborhood cafe, Good Kharma. Erin was ready to find her "person," and Dianna suggested she create a vision board to invite the kind of love she wanted into her life. Erin went home that night and "put it out into the universe," by making a vision board. Well, something magical must have happened because Erin met Jeannie the very next day and they both felt an instant connection. Six months later Erin and Jeannie started their life together in Wilmington, DE."

Today was a great day. I finally reached the 80,000 frequent flier miles I needed to book a free trip to Australia! I was so excited. I've been planning to go to Cairns, Australia all year, and my goal was 11/10, which is my birthday. So I took a break at work and called united airlines to book my free award flight to Cairns. After a  frustrating 45 minutes trying to find a flight that matched my dates, the united guy on the phone suggested I choose another city as my destination.
What??! I have the entire trip to Cairns planned in my head. There's this thing called scubadoo that I've been wanting to try, and breakfast with koalas and other randomness I've researched. It never crossed my mind to choose another city.
And who has ever heard of the airline company suggesting I choose another vacation destination!? But I've been working on going with the flow so I said, okay. The only other city I could think of was Sydney. Bingo! 3 minutes later I was booked for my selected dates. The funny thing is that I have a couple of pictures of Australia on my vision board... I just noticed Both of them have the Sydney Opera house in the picture. It was on my vision board.
